There is a serious yummy product available in the Netherlands that I have only just discovered this year. Even though the stores start to stock the Sint Nicolas products way before the season starts I never noticed the package named ‘kruidnoot truffles‘. I tend to walk straight past them because eating seasonal December goodies already in September is not something one wants to get used to.
So back to this glorious yummy and extravagant new kruidnoot! First of all kruidnoot is a traditionalSint Nicolas treat that is made with flour and mixed spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, cardamom and white pepper.
The kruidnoot truffle is a new variation that has a layer of white chocolate dipped in cocoa powder. Be careful, these treats are highly addictive and before you know it the whole bag is gone!
