Koek en Chocolade is seriously the best chocolate in town!! The secret is that these delicious tasty chocolate treats are handmade and of high quality. I had to hide the box of chocolate that I recently received from my husband, he was spellbound by the taste and wouldn’t stop eating them!

Good news for those living in The Netherlands, besides a store in the Frederikstraat in The Hague there are also shops in Laren and Utrecht. Looking for a gift? Buy a box of koek en chocolade, you can’t go wrong.

Here’s a photo of the chocolate balls we made this week.

Easy and quick to do, even fun for kids to help roll and dip the balls in coconut. My tip is to keep these in the freezer until you need them.
Ingredients:
1 pack Maria cookies
1 cup castor sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 tin of condensed milk
a bit of lukewarm water
1 1/2 cup dried shredded coconut

Method:
Mix sugar, biscuits, cocoa powder in a bowl, add condensed milk to bring all the ingredients together. At this point you can start rolling balls. Make sure your hands are slightly wet with the lukewarm water, so that the mix won’t stick. Use about a teaspoon of mix for each ball. Roll between two hands and then roll in shredded coconut. Happy rolling!
